My first post.Nice to find a place where my fellow TA junkies hang out. :D

I own three DTs - a standard,classic,and hollow,and I've played numerous other TAs over the years,and I've noticed a similar springy,dynamic,transparent tone in all of them,no matter what woods,electronics,scale length,etc.

So my question is,where does this sonic signature come from? Finish, tolerances, magic wood? ;)

the simple answer is yes. it is not one thing, it is everything, materials and the way we do things. i believe that you could give a blue print and materials to 4 different builders, and you would have 4 different sounding and playing guitars when you were done.

And that is the beauty of it. Truly. No sarcasm implied.

Thanks for the reply , Tom.
Back in the early days, did Pat Wilkins do your painting? What year did you change to the UV cured poly?
