I had an original SCH-1 and sold it for $$$$ - just bought the new Arion chorus from MF for $19.95 - and it's wonderful.

ToneLounge - would the new Arion chorus be the SCH-Z?

Yes, that's the one.

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but ToneLounge, can you describe any particular differences between the SCH-1 and SCH-Z?

They both have that cool lumpy LFO (asymetrical) wave, they both do the faux-rotary thing well. With the knobs in the same position, the 1 is a little darker than the Z - but a small twist of the tone knob on the 1 and they are very, very close. You'll never tell the difference with a band or in a track.

Thanks, TL. I have the SCH-Z. Bud and I went to see Landau last Friday at Tone Merchants and his SCH-1 sound A LOT different than my pedal. Yes, granted it is Mike but my pedal seems to lacks the warmth of that Leslie. Or then again it seems like maybe I am suffering from enchanted Harmony Central....the best guys have it, Syndrome.

Funny thing...I got up this morning to find a SCH-1 on Ebay with 8 minutes left at $81.00. I figure I sell my brand new SCH-z for $30...so I got some room to play. In the last minute and a half it went from $81 to $125. Your comments are like words that talked someone off a ledge. :)
