my alder classic is a 62 roundback, and i'm not the fondest of it (it might grow on me) but i was wondering if it could be reshaped to the standard carve. the neck has the vintage tint on it as well.

thanks,
Dave

we set the tension rod deeper in everything but standard and +.03 necks, so a '62 can't be taken down to standard size. it can be made quit a bit smaller, and the taper can be made less extreme. the tint complicates the process in that it the neck has to be stripped to be refinished. usually reshapes are 200 including refinish. add 50 if it is tinted and add another 50 if it is a 1 piece maple neck. stripping the finish between the frets is no fun at all.

On a side note-Tom, can a standard TA neck size be shaved down further. My favorite neck size is .800 first fret to .880 13th fret (the Suhr standard slim c profile) and I was wondering if you guys could do that on a TA standard neck.
