if you head over to the gear page, there are loads and loads of guys talking about the Zendrive.

My personal opinion is that it's a great pedal for thicker, darker, squishy overdrive that feels like a driven amp. I have never heard a pedal that does what this one does. It feels warmer than many of the other drives I've owned. Unfortunately, the way gear goes, though, is that you'll just have to see if it has those magic frequencies that your ears wanna hear. Some guys love it, some guys buy it and sell it. I was all ready to sell mine two weeks ago and then I plugged it in just to say goodbye. It's now bolted down to my pedal board. I just can't let it go, regardless of how much they're going for.

In my best Ollie North, "At this time, I do not recall making any claims about anything regarding the nature of anything..." :)

Okay, so apaprently you all know me better than I know myself. (Matthew Von Doran says that if gear had a personality, mine would all be shaking nervously when I opened my gear closet... like chickens wondering which one is gonna get turned into dinner that day.) Yes, the Zendrive can possibly be yanked off the board. But I'm staying away from the gear page and I've asked my GAS Sponsor to consider this a time of marshal law.

Man, I always dig Scott's clips. The one with the Zendrive sounds better to me, and it sounds like Scott is a little more inspired on that track.

My Zendrive gets a lot of use at bars and clubs, but at church and home (read: when my amp is much quieter), I don't turn it on much. When my amp is loud, the Zen sounds awesome. When the amp is quiet(er), it's just not what I step on.

...and I feel like it's important to mention that I STILL have the Lone Star Special (yes, the same Lone Star Special) and it's still the amp I practice and gig with. How long's it been now? Tom, when I did pick that up? was it 2002? 2003? :)

Tom, what is your opinion of the Zendrive?

It feels like so much longer, but I guess I've only had it since October. Actually, I went over to Von Doran's house the other night and was salivating over his LS Classic head. I've got half a mind to let go of my Deluxe Reverb to get the Classic. The I'll run a two amp setup, with a total of four channels.... and I'll get a switching system and another Zendrive for the ClassicandthenI'llbuyaPodXTLiveforthestereoloopand thenI'llhaveRoosterputsomelightsonitandthenI'll... .

i think i have had a similar experience to yours ole. if i was doing a rock gig with amp loud, it would be great. it seems to work better for me when the amp is working harder. for church playing the amp isn't quite wound up enough for it to come alive. it's a bit dark with the amp clean for me. alf is so great, he offered to mod mine but i haven't gotten a chance to figure out exactly what i'm after from it. it seems like these days when i'm going for a mid gain sound it's more like a wound up ac30 than the squishy dumble thing. the zen does the squishy thing really well. i seem to be changing od's all the time these days, and enjoying them all. one week it's this one and the next it's that one. to quote rach,"it's all good".

guitarzan, Just some feed back for re the LSC. High or low volumes out of my 2x12, at either power level, clean or drive channel are beautiful. The LSC has a lot to offer. I had an LSS but moved on to the C. Now I have moved on from an AMDLX Strat to a TA Classic with SA's. Just Wow! What a combo.

Saturday I'll be heading down to Maryland for my second Fender Jam. Great bunch of people and players of all skill levels. The last time I was there in October, I played the Strat thru a TRRI. This time it's going to be the Classic/Classic pairing. It should be a lot of fun and I'll let you know the reaction to the LSC.

Thanx for all your comments,it is appreciated  :) :) :)
I really like that squishy thing (good description) i read another positive response from a fellow fuchs/zendrive user who said it gave him another voice when used on his clean channel,my other reason is i can use it with my boogie (which i am finding a bit lacking these days) if i decide to take that amp out.

cheers to all West.

Man, I always dig Scott's clips.
scott is great friend, whenever we get time hang in the city. scott's favorite activity is modding my fuchs. awesome player.

my zen through the carr rambler in triode mode is pretty spectacular. but you are right you have to push the pedal, it can be very dynamic.

justin, you are awaiting your new amp later this month, right?

one week it's this one and the next it's that one. to quote rach,"it's all good".

allow me to feed the addiction a bit. although, i've been really, really good (not really). tom, any thoughts on the new mi audio crunch box or the small fry? i think i'm in need of a fix.

Thanx Loads SZ
west, i might have a connection in the uk for a test drive of the zen, however, it all depends on how far you guys are from eachother. allow me to look into it. btw, alf mentioned to me the other day that the zen is being reviewed by a couple of british guitar/gear mags.
