I've currently been experimenting with my crowdster signal chain and I was wondering what others are using...ie...mama bear to pa...pendulum to mixer to pa....etc.

It would be great to hear your opinions... ;)

For me it's, Crowdy to Pendulum - Pendulum to board - Board to Shure transmitter - Transmitter to ear buds. :)

For me, it's crowdster, fishman proeq, out to california blond with the 1/4, and the mic line of the mama bear to the pa.

right....so it sounds like you both do a lot of "eq" befor it gets to the PA. My problem right now is that our PA at church stinks and no amount of EQing on the board helps...I know this crowdster should be sounding better so I'm trying to find out if I need to go with a preamp (avalon, mamabear, pendulum). Your input is mos defntly appreciated.

I've been going direct into our board - no preamps. I use a Shure UHF system so that compounds the tone a bit, but not really much. I really love the sound. Our sound engineer does as well. I just got a Fishman Aura. I'm really excited to use it. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

our leader goes straight in through a pretty cheap di. one standard thing that i almost always do is turn the high pass on the board on and set it for about 150htz. with a band, all the extra bass just gets in the way. i think crowder does the same whether or not he's using the pendulum.

Yes, I usually roll off some bass and cut the mid a bit. Depends on the room/stage/music. I did not like the Crowdster through the Mama Bear. It sounded too acoustic if that makes any sense?

The blend knob on the mama bear is the key, I just set it to where it just starts to effect the signal. We have a great pa system, we designed the acoustics of the auditorium and them built the building around it. It's a great place for music. Lot's of fun to play in!!! I have a Taylor 914 and 810, they both sound great. We tested the crowdster against the taylors by having my sound man turn his back and I played each one, including the Crowdster. When I got to the crowster, he stopped me and said "that's it, that's the one". Now my Taylors are just there incase I break a string.

I know what you mean! I tracked a few of my songs real rough for my band to learn. I used my usual live rig with the Crowdster through a Mackie 808S and two EV Sx300 monitors. I used a mini disc to record the live sound in the air and my band thought for sure I used my Taylors. There is just something magical about the Crowdster.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on the Crowdster into the Aura. I've messed around with it and a Crowdster before and liked the initial results, for a more "acoustic" sound. One of my guitar players in my worship band uses the Summit tube pre and we love it. Still very "piezo", but much more musical and detailed without losing the attack of a piezo pickup.

Ryan, how did the Fishman Aura turnout?
