Hello there -
I'm getting ready to re-fret a '56 Custom Shop Strat and would like to go with heavier frets. My HTC has heavy frets, but I don't know the specs on them. Are these a little taller than Dunlop 6105s? Can anyone recommend the Dunlop equivalent for the TAG Heavy (and Mediums, for that matter).
Thank 'uns.
Steve
there's not a direct translation. the heavies are .053" tall, a bit more than the 6150, and .110" wide compared to the 6105's .090" the 6105 is like our medium.

Thanks Tom.
Just to get this correct, the TAG Heavy is .053 x .110. What is the TAG medium anyway? You say it's close to the Dunlop 6105 (which is .047 x .112). Just thinking about future TAGs, etc.....
Thanks again.
Steve
FWIW, I'm pretty used to the smaller radius and vintage frets on the Strat, so I'm thinking that I might not want to make too big a jump with the re-fret - e.g., the 6105s might be good for this purpose. 'Course, they're rounded at the top in contrast to your pyramid shaped Heavies, so more reason not to make too big a jump.
the mediums are actually .055 tall x .090 wide, and nice and round. they might be the best choice for you.

Is the jumbo frets sized between the heavy and the medium?? I am comfused!
jumbos are the largest, .06" tall and .110 wide with a very round top crown.
