Wondering if anyone out there has wired in a humbucker into a Drop Top in place of the H2+?
I had a Fralin Humbucker I wanted to try in the bridge of my HDT. I tried following the original pickup wiring (although the Fralin uses different color coding) and it works, but when I choose position 4 on the 5-way switch (Middle and Bridge) the volume drops tremendously (out of phase maybe?).
The Fralin sounds fine by itself but not with the other 2 pickups. I then tried pulling the 2 pickup wires that were soldered to the toggle but no difference.
Any ideas out there?
