Vintage Trem Question

Wondering if any of you have removed all of the strings from an Anderson with a Vinatge Trem.
Is that okay or do you have to block the trem somehow to keep it from going wacky while you change strings?
I am swapping a pickup up and need to remove all of the strings.

the baggs xbridge is the only thing we've used that you have to be careful with. as long as the pivot screws are captive in the baseplate there should not be any problems.
