Keeley does a DL4 and MM4 mod. It's supposed to take away the volume drop and reduce the RF noise associated with most of delay models. Plus, you get super cool blue LEDs. Has anybody played a modded DL4? I use my DL4 a LOT live, so I'm thinking of investing in this mod. Might take the GAS for a Memory Lane away.

I have the same mods, but they were done by Jeorge Tripps (Mr. huge). They are night and day different/better. The volume drop fix is worth it alone. Highly recommended!
did mr huge give any indication on whether line6 would ever incorporate the mods, or is that just crazy talkin'?

The Huge One decided he did not want to deal with all of the requests, and L6 does not want to spend the extra $ on parts, so he gave the mod info to Keeley.

I had Keeley do my MM4 and it's spectacular. I didn't have it in my board for over two years because I couldn't deal with the volume drop off and bad fidelity. I plan to do it for my DL4, if I can't find a better delay pedal. I know Tom likes the Boss one...I'm giving that one a try.

The MM4 mod makes it that much better, eh? I am thinking of sending him my MM4 just based on everyone's comments. I hate the volume drop thing - it would be great to fix that.
Aside from the volume drop issue, how else is it better?
I have used both the DL4 and DD-20 settled on the DD-20. I like it better for overall usability, but the looping features of the DL4 are better.

I just like the fact that the two Line 6 pedals look nice side by side...
You'll like the overall fidelity...everything just sounds more alive...it might be a function of volume but totally worth it. Keeley guys are great people, too.

I have an external tap tempo switch attached to my DD-20, and even with that, it still takes up a tad less space on the board than the MM4. So you save a bit of space.
With the external tap tempo on the DD-20, you can call up the patch AND tap in the tempo with the effect OFF, then turn it on and have it right where you want it. That's GREAT when/if you're not playing with a click and can't pre-program the delay time. That is the entire reason I like the DD-20 better.
I have loved the other Keeley stuff I've had and the blue led thing would be cool. What was the turnaround time to have it done?
