I just picked up two Atoms. One with a hum and two Ms with 5 way and splitter. One with two hums.

What does the switching do when mated to Ms? I'v got position 1 and 5 down! :)

I saw a few threads related to this subject but I am still a bit unclear.

Check out Anderson Alley's Gallery. Back to back up top. I have been on a tear lately. However, the bulk of the bill was paid with sold or traded guitars.

 Wow on that cherry burst!!!!!

Standard atom m m h switching is:

Tone Knob in:
Pos 1: neck
Pos 2: middle
Pos 3: neck and split bridge
Pos 4: middle and split bridge
Pos 5: series bridge

Tone Knob out:
Pos 1: neck
Pos 2: middle
Pos 3: neck and parallel bridge
Pos 4: middle and parallel bridge
Pos 5: parallel bridge

I don't have it memorized, it's courtesy of Gary McT. ;)

On a semi-related note, how trivial is it to rewire for:

Tone Knob in:
Pos 1: neck
Pos 2: middle
Pos 3: neck and parallel bridge
Pos 4: middle and parallel bridge
Pos 5: series bridge

Tone Knob out:
Pos 1: neck
Pos 2: middle
Pos 3: neck and split bridge
Pos 4: middle and split bridge
Pos 5: parallel bridge

(Changed stuff in bold.)

If I had mine wired this way, I would keep the tone knob in 99% of the time in all positions.

The honeymoon is over for my Drop Top. . I love my Atom equally now. It's a good thing. :)
