What kind of wood is this body?

This is my old franken-strat (doesnt' get played much more since I found Anderson guitars). I had it in my mind for years that this is alder, but now that I look at it, I'm not sure.

(You can probably tell from this picture why I like the SS jumbo frets so much. :) )

That appears to be ash, but not sure if it's from the north or southern swamp-ash.
