I posted some early shots of this in the intro forum but now I have some decents shots.

And as to the questions.

Do Cobra cases seem to be ultra tight when new? I kind of have to force the lid down on mine to get the latches to close?

The hang tag states Elixers 10-46 is it possible that it came with 9-42's? With no 9's hangin around the house I don't want to change em out just to find the nut is really setup for 9's.

Did I read the FAQ right Cobra RRB62 neck w/ 1 11/16ths nut also has a +.020 of-an-inch deeper backshape than the 1 5/8" version. What does this mean related to the description of .830 at the first fret to .945 at the 12th. The reason I want to know is this is by the best neck I've experienced and I want it duplicated as close as possible on my Thorn but don't want to let go of the guitar long enough for Ron to measure it. (He might not send it back either ;-) )

That's alll I can think of for now.

Shad,

Dont have the answers to your Cobra questions - just wanted to say "NICE PICS!" of guitars and other gallery subjects.

Sorry to hijack ... :o

I saw that you were using a EOS 20D and a 1D? What lens are you using?

Im a newbie with a EOS XT w/a Canon 28-135 ISM lens still using auto mode and my shots are not coming out with nearly the same sharpness under similar outdoor conditions as your great shots. I guess I need to start venturing into the "manual/creative settings"

Any advice would be appreciated!

I use a 20D and a 1DMKII these were shot with a 28-135 USM also but I have a bunch o lenses.

Forget about any of the "AUTO" settngs use AV Aperature priority just about always. That way you can use your aperature settings to control depth of field. I also shoot in Raw mode unless I'm pressed for time to do the post processing, this gives you a lot more lattitude in post processing if things (exposure/color) aren't what you thought they would be. I shoot with in camera sharpening turned off and do that in post processing also I use Fred Miranda sharpening tools in Photoshop, Focal Blade is also a good sharpening tool. Look around in these galleries and feel free to hit my email with questions just be patient for the responses. www.pbase.com/shadco

Cheers

Shadco,

The tight case is because it is new... this is normal.

If the hang-tag states .010's then that is what is on it. The only time we ship a guitar with .009's is if the dealer ordered it that way. We like .010's better anyway at the shop.

The 62 roundback question is confusing and I don't know where that FAQ is. You can call the shop next week, and ask for Tom or Roy... they will have the number as to what size you have.

a finished 1 11/16 62 should be .850-.965"
