I wonder if anybody knows if anyone have experimented with using three types of wood?? ex. maple top, alder body, and ash bottom part? I have seen some setneck guitars have other wood in the middle of the guitar, when you look at it from above.. but have somone experimented with the other directions? Looks of a guitar with maple top and bottom would be great!

other than the maple on the back, we do that. i think you have to be very careful to not get too much maple on a guitar. there's only so far i'll go for looks alone.

Thank you Tom.. I was thinking the same about it, but looks is not everything.. just a bonus on nice guitars..

I am very interested in tonewoods and the different sonic characteristics between them.
Has anyone got a gutar with ash on hollow alder??
