Nut Width question

I know the 25 1/2" scale Andersons are available with either 1 11/16 width or 1 5/8 while the Cobra is strictly 1 11/16. I was just curious if this was because of the Cobra's shorter scale length?

cobra's and atoms are available with 1 5/8" also.
