I know this is not your standard exotic flame-topped Anderson guitar, but what originally was meant to be a natural Basswood finish turned into something quite surreal and unique - you can view the (humongous) photo to see the detail of the painting and read the bio of this one-of-a-kind Tom Anderson Pro Am:

Yes, it was for sale for about a nansecond, but I quickly changed my mind and still have it. I took it to Tom and Roy and they set it up to be tuned to Eb. It's also got the original Anderson headstock and has yet to be Feiten-ized...http://www.buzzfeiten.com

Thanks for the welcome - yes it is an incredible feeling to have an assortment of Andersons to take with you around the planet. They are my Linus blanket and I have to hold and play one everyday or I just don't feel right with the world. It's been this way since I bought my first Anderson in 1988 and it's still my main guitar.

Date stamp - 1-5-88 (this was a 1988 Namm show model)
Model - Pro Am
Body Finish - Pearl White
Body Wood - Basswood
Neck Wood - Hard Rock Maple, Rosewood Fretboard
Neck Finish - Satin Back
Frets - Heavy
Hardware - Black
Bridge - Sunken Floyd Rose
Pickguard - white (originally black)
Pickups - ULTRASONICS R1 R1 R3

It's possible we changed the pickups in the white one. We changed a few things in one or two of my Andersons so I can't recall. And yes I am planning on bringing them out for a pit stop.

I called in August when Roy was on vacation. I even stopped there a couple of weeks ago on my way to Ventura/Specific ocean to show my wife where you are located but it was on a weekend.

I'd like you to tune the Alien back to E instead of Eb. I'll see you all soon.

One of my favorite guitar players in the world is hanging out on the forum.
Howdy and Welcome db!!! It has been a month of Sundays since I heard anything about or from you. I still have my autographed CD and t-shirts and picks from when I chased the Chi-boys all over creation.

Fellow forum members, this is the guitarist who first introduced me to Anderson guitars and has influenced me in many ways as a guitarist. I can't say enough about him.
Welcome again.....

Shaun

Wow! I think I have your guitar's sibling from the same show!

About a decade ago I found a blue TA "from the '88 NAMM"....I have no way to verify that though.....bought it anyway.....

Anybody have any recollection of the guitars at that show?

I remember you with Chicago. You had a tough spot to fill - and did a FANTASTIC job. Great to see you here!

that's a long time ago. if you look in the bridge pickup cavity, you may see NAMM penciled in.

Tom, What date/year did you first start engraving the date on the neck plate? I'm curious to why jeepster's '88 doesn't have a date stamp but mine does? And what year did the first Anderson see the light of day?

the first guitar with the logo was january 1986, and it was engraved. i think jeeps is dated, he's just not sure about the namm connection.

It is dated - 1-11-88.....so the time frame fits.

I've loved Dawayne's play since 1993. I had chance to see his gig when I was in the US at 1993 and I was very impressed to see him to play at that gig.

Really Cool and Beautiful Guitar!

Dawayne Bailey,

Well I’ll be son of a…something or other. Great to hear from you once again. You are just way too good not to be playing in front of thousands of people—but everyone knows that. Heard you mention a wife now, that’s cool—congratulations. She must be the right girl if you are driving her by on the weekend just to show her what the factory looks like. I use to do the very same thing. We’d love to see you again. Call us and we can set up a time for you to drop off the Andersons for check ups.

To quote John Lennon...."I heard the news today, Oh Roy"....

Oh Roy is right.....it's difficult to fathom not standing in the Anderson shop which always resembled visiting the North Pole and marveling at SanTom and his magic elves assembling all those amazing toys to be sent out to all the kids of the world.

But we're an adaptable species and I'm sure we'll improv our way through these changes with lots of tlc and positivity.

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and with this, I leave you with a photo of Jimi Houndrix chilling after a wild howlfest on my white (Jan 5) 1988 TA ProAm.
