Hi guys,

Inspired by my fellow countryman Yngve, I have gone and ordered my very own Anderson Bard Signature Edition! :p

Specs as follows:

Hollow Classic
Swamp ash top on hollow alder back
Tobacco Burst
Maple neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
TA standard +0.30 neck
1 5/8" nut width
Heavy frets
Vintage trem
Chrome hardware
White pickguard
VA1, VA1R, VA2 pickups, 5-way switch with pull adds bridge

I'm sure it will be a subtle, but gorgeous instrument with tone to match. I love how every Anderson guitar is a custom instrument, and I felt like a kid in a candy shop speccing out the guitar to my personal preferences.

Very exciting! ETA is January. This will be 5 looong months...

Cheers,
Bard

Congrats on the order! Waiting is the hardest part.

Brazilian rosewood?

Didn't realize that was an option. Are you sure it's not Madagascar or African?

That's interesting. I didn't know if it was an option, so I asked specifically about it at Mesa Boogie Hollywood - they never mentioned it, simply put it on the spec sheet, so I assumed it was ok. Might be a slip on their side, I will need to check that out. Will most likely go for Madagascar rosewood if I need to change. Thanks for the heads up!

Good Choice!! Anderson Classics are incredible - whether a Classic or 'T' Classic, these guitars always deliver. Since I got my first Classic in '97, the Classic has always been my favorite.

Ok, I just heard back from Tom. Turns out Brazilian rosewood is not an option, so Madagascar it is.

Thanks Stys! I already own and love a '97 Hollow T Classic (see avatar), and I'm sure the new kid will complement it nicely.

Hi Bard
I also wanted Brazilian when I orderd my Anderson, see enlosed foto.
Tom told me that the closest they do to it was African Rosewood, so I opted for that.
I'm really happy with my choice, it looks almost identical, and has a nice sweet tone acoustically.
5 months seems long, but trust me it'll fly !!
Enjoy .

Hi Wolf,
Yes, Tom told me that as well. However, I also asked about their most dense rosewood, as I'm looking for as smooth a feel as possible, and the answer was Madagascar, so that tipped the scale for me. Stunning Drop Top you have there!

Smooth feel ?
I have guitars with maple , rosewood and ebony 'boards and the Anderson out performs them all in every area, including my Artist PRS with Brazilian.
The African , for me, had the softer and more musical tone of the others i tried.
The actual feel is impossible to detect, if I'm honest.
Go for the tone first is my final suggestion to you.
Either way you'll have another Awesome guitar.
I almost feel unworthy when i open the case.

Thanks Wolf, I appreciate your advice. Actually, today I recieved a mail from Roy in which he suggests Madagascar or Indian to go with my choice of body woods, tonewise, so I'll definitely stick with Madagascar now. I'm sure they're all good, though. It's indeed hard to go wrong with these guitars.
