Stainless Steel Strings?

Anybody used stainless steel strings? A bass player buddy of mine swears they will make my guitar sound 3 times better... :rolleyes: Will stainless strings wear on stainless frets at all?

better a hard word. i haven't reied them for years, but i remember them sounding brighter. didn't care for that. can't say about the wear, plain steel strings are probably harder than stainless.
