Just wondering about how to soften the "feel" of the trem on my Hollow Cobra S. I have three springs in it (as I do on all my other trem equipped guitars) and it seems to take much more of an effort to get the trem in motion. It's set to only drop the note and not raise it. Thanks in advance for any help! :)

You have to find the sweet spot with the spring tension. If it's not set up to float, then you probably have more tension on the springs then is necessary to offset the tension of the strings. Back off on the spring claw until the bridge is just off the body when tuned to pitch. Now if you tighten it just a touch so that the bottom of the bridge is touching the body, it will still be non-floating, but require less effort to depress the bar.

Hi Steve K,
Tombo had a similar question about the vintage trem set-up--but in reverse. Check out this hyperlink to that post and read through the set up posted by Roy (maybe). You may find it helpful.
