I got to play a new Taylor T-5 Thinline last week. Not all I was expecting. Kinda thin sounding and hard to get a really great acoustic or even a electric tone. Some of the similarities with Andersons did surprise me . It has the two rear strap pins and a single bolt on the neck joint like the Atom. I wonder if the neck pocket is the same?
Still, it was as expected very playable and very light. Kind of large body. It did surprise me that Taylor would go in that direction. Not sure if it will take off.

I have had Tylor acc. since 1999 and love the accoustic quality, playability and sound. I don`t think I would by a T-5 guitar. I want pure accoustic tone and feel!! If I want electric, I use one of my electric guitars! If I want bluegrass tone/slidguitar I use my Dobro! I am not fan of the digital guitars with 100 guitarsounds! I want the right feel/neckscale and soundcharacteristics!

I am sure the T-5 is not a bad guitar, but thes types of guitars don`t work for me!

the neck pockets are not similar, their's is flat on the bottom, normal fender style.
