Vintage voicing. Anyone decided to experiment?

I'm thinking about experimenting with my classic drop-top by putting in a 500k audio pot in place of the vintage voicing pot. Anyone done this? I find the two small components sometimes intrusive in certain situations affecting the sound.

it is a 500k pot. if you remove the 330k resister your singles will get brighter and harder on the top end. if you remove the resister on the vol, your tone will get brighter when you roll down the vol. if you remove the cap on the vol, your tone will get darker when you roll down the vol.
