Routing a HDT for Ms or p90s

Quick question about the procedure... will I have to send the guitar to TAG, or can I have someone like Jack Gretz do it (assuming he'd be willing)?

I read on another thread a p90 slot can get an M retro-fitted into it, would it make sense to route for p90s then change to Ms if I don't like them?

Also, any idea of the cost per SC routing converted to M or p90? I'm thinking of having 2 SC slots routed, but I may put an M in the existing HB slot too.

that's not something we love to do because when we rout for pickup, we round over the edges before finish to get that nice made that way look. after the fact routing will leave you with sharp edges. i'm sure jack would do a great job. if you are pretty sure you will like p90s go for that. make sure you think you can live with the hum. the m's will fit those holes, but the added ring is not as pretty as the smaller m rout.

Thanks for the info Tom. That's good to know. I probably won't do it to this guitar then...it's just too nice! ;)
