Funny. The TC rep said that same thing to me when I told him I play your guitars. :p
i know it's my own bias, but the electronics change so fast that it's hard for me to buy into 1 piece at that price. :o

I had the same reaction as Tom when I saw the unit. Why not get a G-Major and a few other rack units and a ground control or something? I guess I can easily justify having a few grand into a pedalboard and effects setup, BUT if you peice it together, you can pull a single piece and replace it.
$1500 - $2500 into a guitar that you love - YES. But that box will be out of date in a few years most likely.
It looks cool though. I'd love to hear a review. It appears at first glance as a Digitech type all-in-one box on steriods..?? Hah...
Just my two cents...

I said the same thing 12 years ago when I was dumb enough to buy a TC 2290 Delay and 1210 rack chorus. I needed to rent my rack out just to pay for it...
I never really understood how to work the delay till about the time I sold it...
to pay my rent! Honestly, I've found true bypass pedals are enough of a 'tone hawg' and that every multi processor I've used so far, and I've used the best, seems to compress and rob dynamic. If there's a type of sound you want and can only get it with rack FX I can understand, but for me I'd let the studio or the sound company foot the bill for fancy Multi FX units.
I don't know, now that I think about it my pedals and amp set up cost a lot. I thought about integrating rack stuff and pedals, but it always seems I am constantly telling myself to simplify, so I do and then 6 months later I need to simplify again. There is something seriously wrong with all this obsession,
call it A.A.S or T.A.S. it's kinda nuts isn't it? Of course not!!! It's perfectly okay. ;)

Ryan,
I thought the g-system looked pretty cool, especially in pictures and the layout seems pretty user-friendly, but then I checked out the videos on the website and the sounds they guy was getting were way over-processed and pretty unnatural. I think that's the tendency with the multi processors is to "multi" everything. The best tone is usually the purist with the fewer things the better... unless of course, you're going for the Dann Huff 90's rock chorus thing. I opted not to try it out, but to each his own. There's no real right answer, but you've got great guitars and a good amp, you probably don't need everything in the g-system and I agree that most multi units rob dynamics and tone as a rule. Just my 2.5 cents.

Thanks for the info... isn't it crazy how many ways you can go about setting up a guitar rig and getting almost the same sounds?? Possibilties are endless, and you're right - "to each his own". Each guy makes his own rig unique in his own way, etc... I guess it's all part of creating your own sound, feel, style, image, etc...

I think the funny thing is, guys sound like themselves no matter what. I stumbled onto Wayne Krantz (not literally) who does a fusion trio thing in NYC regularly. He was a strat into a deluxe reverb guy with a little o/d thrown in very rarely. I thought his tone was amazing. I coveted what he could get out of that rig. Then I downloaded an entire set from his site a few weeks ago and he's playing a Tyler into a Marshall Half stack and his tone sounds remarkably similar. (I'd venture to say... the same?) All that's to say, it's helped me admit that my gear lust is more to make MY ears happy, and if I convince myself that the folks at the venues I play (be it church, coffee shoppe, or club) can hear the difference between a George L's cable and a Planet Waves or between the multitudes of different brands of ts808-inspired pedals, then I'm suckering myself.
I'm not suggesting that there's no sonic difference between the multi effects and a guitar>cable>amp rig- I'm saying that guys often sound like themselves no matter what they play through.
or maybe that's because my trick bag is the size of a lunch sack... :o
If you can't tell, I'm in a GASaholics group right now and one of the 12 steps is to admit to the world that my downfalls as a guitar player are at the ends of my arms- not at the end of my guitar cable. :)

I had the G-Force system with the Rocktron All-Access Midi controller and relized over the years that I was using the same 3-4 patches over and over so I sold it and now it's all pedals for me! Anolog that is! No regrets..... :D

My .02...YMMV
Many agree that the TC chorus is the best on the market. If the 2290 is good enough for The Edge, I'd say that it's the defacto delay for tempo based junkies (like me). Throw those two on a board with a tuner mute, tap tempo and programability and for some it might be worth it. It certainly had me thinking for a while.
All I'm saying is (sing: give peace a chance) the G-System takes what some think are the best delay and chorus in a portable plug and play package. If all of us here weren't willing to spend $1,500 on the best, we wouldn't be Anderson players, now would we?
