Ok with out getting on the relgion side I know alot of the people here play in church's. Just curious what everyone else is playing. We have been doing alot of Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Hillsong's and Ross Parsley. And haveing fun doing it. Like I told Tom I can't wait to get my new Green Thing to play in Church, I think it will go to 11. :D

Our worship leader is Josh White from Telecast, so we play a lot of his stuff, also Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, still it's hard to beat the new Chris Tomlin's 'Arriving' to me it's a great work not a song on there I don't like.

Chris Tomlin and David Crowder are the most popular right now for us. We kid our worship leader about having "Chris Tomlin" Sundays and such. Rich Mullins, Fernando Ortega, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Hillsongs, Maranatha, Charlie Hall, Big Daddy Weave, Paul Baloche, Matt Redman, Phillips-Craig and Dean, Third Day, and various other Passion songs.

You can also throw in some older praise choruses and a hymn done with the full rhythm section.

I met Josh a little over a year ago when he and his band appeared with David Crowder at a local theater. I still listen to his cd and find his songwriting just awesome. I am getting to record a project myself and some of Josh's influence will be on m,y project. He seems like a great dude! :) I tried to get our Church to add "The Beauty of Simplicity" and the Pastor said the song was too simple? I am no longer at that Church. :D

Similar 'gene pool' at the churches where I play. Quite a number of tunes from 'Arriving', lots of Baloche, hymns (both in roughly their original and with re-worked a bit), Hillsong, many of the 'classic' p&w tunes and I think we've covered every tune but one or two from the first Casting Crowns CD ;-) At one of the churches we do some Israel Houghton with some regularity which is always a riot!

We're doing a lot of the same at my church--Crowder, Tomlin, Redman.

We've even got some of the Crowder loops down using Reason live. It works well with an iBook.

Our old bass player put that together...he's gone now, though. Jeremy is interning with David Crowder and tells me that he's going to be playing some with them for some of their shows for the next week or two.

I subscribe to Worship Leader Magazine that includes a CD with (mostly) new tunes. It's been a reasonably consistent source for good, new tunes not to mention a being fine magazine.

Thus the 'Name'. I can see his side, but the chorus after "and all God's people sing... seems to get a great reaction from the congregation. BTW... Josh has finished his second CD and we've been singing many of those tunes on Sunday's. A little more upbeat, and even stronger lyrically. We also do at least a half a dozen tunes from the first CD on Sunday's worship as well. Maybe your Pastor would aprove of those?

Is anybody out there changing their tuning for the David Crowder stuff. It makes it so much easier to play. I was also wondering if he uses the same tunings on Illuminate CD. I think it's EAEEBE?

We stay in standard tuning with 3 electrics and an aoustic it gets to complicated. Then you throw in T.E.D our trantical-evil- dictator :D it is simpler to stay in standard tuning.
