Tom, did you find one yet?
I don't know anything about THIS ONE (http://thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89474) , but thought I'd bring it to your attention.

I know nothing about the seller or his item, fwiw.

Hi Tom,

Sorry to hear you haven't found one yet, but glad at the same time!

The Chrome Ebow Fairy has recently visited me and I have something I think will make you very happy!

The new Atom looks awesome but I didn't see any with the Bigsby?

Much love to the shop,

Joe

that is a good fairy indeed. we'll be building a couple bigsby equipped ones soon. i've got my hollow atom special with a metallic orange top and a brownish orange back going together with a bigsby tomorrow!

Hey Tom,

Did that Chrome Ebow Fairy come through for you? I didn't inquire into the one at the link I posted since it looked like you might be taken care of. Got it covered?

Joe, any chance the Koa Topped DT/Cobra fairy also makes a visit to you? :D

i haven't seen the fairy yet, but if that one listed is a chrome one, i'd be willing to have another spare. $60 is pretty cheap insurance. please let me know.

i think it's one of the newer ones. the chrome ones are very rare.

Tom-

Have you seen this one? I know you are handy, so perhaps you can bring it back to life. Auction ends in 9 hours.

I pretty sure I have an original one - all chrome - no switch on the end. I've gotta go through some boxes to check. Are you still in need?

I'd rather trade for another Anderson pickguard, a trem backplate and maybe some hardware instead of cash.

Email me if you are still interested.

Many Thanks,
d2

Tom,

I had won the auction for the Ebow offered on EBAY with the leather holster (see above) and was going to send it to you ("gift Clark").

I had the seller check it to make sure it still worked and unfortunately it did not. I asked him if he would send it to me to see if I could get it fixed but he didn't want to.

Sorry Tom.

Joe

alas the problem. it is likely that it's just the battery wires that are broken, but those things are glued together so it could be tricky getting inside.

Tom,
do you mind if I ask? I've never really used an ebow- what's the benefit of the older ones vs. the newer ones?

the old one has no on off switch. it comes on when it senses a string under it. it also shuts itself off after not being used for a short period of time. saves battery life tons. it also does not have the octave switch like the newer ones. what i like tonally about it is that you play it like an instrument. it changes tone the closer you get to the neck pickup. you can make it jump an octave that way too. it just feels more musical to me. the newer ones are more just on and off. the new ones are more powerful, which would let you change strings faster, but that isn't an issue for me.
i use it a lot behind ballads, sort of a clarinet or sax sound, or sometimes like a string part. it's awesome for the line that goes behind the vocal on agnus dey. i also do a harmony line to the vocal on that song.
