Anyone know what acoustic amp would be able to do justice to the TA Crowdster's sound? (that's as cheap as possible? :))

Havn't tried my crowdster thru one yet. but I wish I had my Rivera sedona back, it made my taylor sound great. You might contact Brian H. He played mine thru a little cube amp of some type. Did not see the name but man did it sound great.

I have not yet had the pleasure of playing a Crowdster, but as far as acoustic amps go, imho you cannot get better than AER... not exactly the cheapest, but you can get incredible sound from these small cube amps. Well worth the money.

i believe roland makes a really portable one, but i can't attest for the sound quality.

I have used mine through a fender acoustasonic jr and it was pretty good. I didn't like it through the fishman loudbox, seemed to be pretty weak. I tried the roland AC-60 and it sounded nice but again, whimpy. The SWR California Blonde has plenty of punch and sounds great with a Crowdy.
My own personal rig is Crowdy to Pendulum SPS-1 pre-amp to Mackie 808S mixer head that powers two EV SX300 12 floor monitors. I tap into the Pendulum to send a signal to the FOH and I have complete control over my stage volume and eq-ing. I also run my vocal into the Mackie first and tap into that channel and send the FOH a vocal too. Complete control! My feeling is, How can a sound guy know what I need in my face on any given song? They can't! They have enough to deal with making the FOH sound great. As for the monitor mixer guys just off stage, They are a step up from the FOH sound guy but they are still tucked away off stage.

You also must try the Fishman Loudbox--really good and not too expensive.

Ultrasound is another popular choice, especially if you are budget conscious. (Some would say it is a good choice even if you weren't.)

FYI: there's a strawberry blonde on ebay right now that'll probably go for $275. The guy spelled "strawberry" with 3 r's in the listing title so it may not have gotten the exposure he'd hoped for. He emailed me a picture of it with the american flag amp cover and everything looks to be in good condition.

I have a Strawberry Blonde amp that I got in a bundle with a used TA Crowdster. Unfortunately, when I got it, the reverb didn't work. Otherwise it's in perfect condition. I'd sell it for $200. If anybody's interested, email: fLeister at LeisterFamily.com

Morning Ivan,
One of the most important things about an acoustic amp for any type of acoustic instrument is the integrity of the tweeter. Many times even amps that realistically produce solid sounding bass frequencies have difficulties with sweet highs. So, before deciding on an acoustic amp listen carefully to what the high end sounds like. It should be rich, full and pleasing to the ear, not crashy and harsh.
Happy Playing

Compact 60 or the Domino; just fantastic for small, medium or large situations. Amazing sounds that compliment a Crowdster. Super light weight and come with carry bags. Check them out.
