Okay... sounds like we'll be doing "Where the Streets Have No Name". I'm looking for different options to get "that" sound. Currently running a mono system with one delay pedal (Line 6 Tonecore).

Suggestions?

Thanks, Noah

Set your delay time to a dotted eighth note with a shorter decay; make sure the first slapback of what you play is just as loud as your attack. Play eighth notes. If you could run stereo out, that would be the best, as it would make it the most full. With the dotted eighth note delay, what you play on "one" will slap back on "uh" (in the "one-ee-and-uh" breakdown of a quarter note). So, you're playing eighth notes, but what's coming out is a chugging 16th note pattern made up of your notes and the slapbacks coming 3-16ths (or a dotted 8th) later. For best results, trade your tonecore for a Memory Man from Electro Harmonix (that's what Mr. The Edge uses). Enjoy the sounds; it's very rhythmically inspiring!

Edge also uses a nylon pick with gripping dots on them that are made in England. He flips them over (grabs the point) and uses the bumps to strike the string. I bought Herco Flex 75s and they work great. You would be amazed how key this simple thing is to his sound.
