Hi guys,

I have a Jem 7PBK since 1990, with basswood body, rosewood neck, Floyd Rose and HSH (2 Dimarzio Paf pro and Dimarzio jem single coil).

It's a great guitar to play with distorsion(1-neck and 5-bridge position), but I never like so much the clean sound (I use in 1,2 y 4 position)

I think the single pickup is very bad middle sound. The hums sound(bridge and neck) are good but not perfect (IMO)

I was thinking about to change pickups to find a better sound, tone and balance between clean and distorsion sound.

Maybe a M, H pickups fot bridge and neck and a VA1 for middle position??(Maybe another pickup builder??)

For a bassbood/rosewood guitar, which will be your choice?

Any suggestion will be apreciated.

Javier

Tom, Roy, Bruce:

I read Steve Vai was talking with Tom about a new guitar before Steve signed with Ibanez(JEM), so I think you know that guitar so well (is it true that JEM is a "copy" of a TA prototype?)

What kind of pickups you will use for this guitar (basswood, rosewood)?

I really love the VA I had in my TA classic

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

Javier
