I'm thinking about a drop top classic (maple cap on solid alder), SSH. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the V pickups in the neck and middle position. Thoughts - or is it best to stick with the SA (solid alder) pickups in the DTC.

I have a HDTC, Maple top on swamp ash, with 3 VA Pickups and the VA Booster option. I love the VA series in my Andersons and this HDTC is no exception! Really hard to tell the difference between this guitar and my "pure Anderson Classics" with VAs.

Thanks Stan - I appreciate the input.
I'm thinking about a DTC (alder body, maple cap) with an all maple neck (1 5/8 slight v) with s/s/h. The neck and middle would be VAs (with the booster) and the bridge an HO1+ or HO2. At least that's what I'm thinking at this time.

I absolutely love VA pickups in a Hollow Drop Top Classic. One of the best 'S' tones I ever got on tape was with one.
