I am confused. My plum tele does not play the way I want it too. I bought Stan's tele on here a month or so ago, and when I got it, I absolutely loved the way it played. I sat for a few hours just playing the two back and forth and his was so much better feeling than mine.

Stan's tele felt amazing, but there was quite a bit of buzzing going on.

My guitar has 62 Roundback and was setup with .011s at the time. The new one had a Tom Anderson standard neck and was setup with .010s. So I changed my strings to .010s and took it in to the guys at Glaser to have it setup. We spend a good amount of time trying to get the perfect height set, and we found something good, but after having it a week, it still doesn't play that great.

After taking the tele into Glaser, I took in my Hollow Drop Top (TA Standard neck with .010s) in to have it setup exactly like my tele. I get it back, and it feels just great, but it is buzzing quite a bit more than I would like.

My question is: Is it the neck shape or the action that I am liking so much? I am ready to get rid of my tele and get a new one, but I have no clue what it is that I like. I'm quite frustrated actually.

I have a junk Squier strat sitting next to these georgous Andersons that nearly feels better - and doesn't buzz that much at all.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

It's hard to tell what you like from here. Also, if it's buzzing it sounds like something needs adjusting...so it's not a good idea to do an A/B comparison of things when things aren't adjusted right. A small adjustment can make a big difference in play-feel.

My suggestion would be to have both guitars IDENTICALLY set up at the same time and do a side by side comparison. We have to do this from time to time with folks at the shop.

Thanks Bruce. What is the action height you use for a standard on all the guitars that come out of Anderson?
