This question is directed to anyone who works at the TAG factory or knows a lot about it:

As a lefty player, I'm interested about the building/testing process of lefty Andersons. I'm guessing there are no lefty players on the Anderson staff since it is a small staff. Is it more difficult to build them, since everything usually goes by a righty template? And is it more difficult to test/intonate them since you have to try to fret the strings backwards? Also, out of all TAG guitars produced in a year, about what percentage are lefties?

Don't get me wrong, I've never had any reason to think that the build quality is less than that of a righty Andy. I'm just curious, that's all. I've owned my lefty Hollow T for almost 4 years now and I absolutely love it!

Thanks!

I used to work at Tom's in final assembly and was the resident lefty and I can assure you the leftys get the same exact treatment as the rightys do. Bruce and the rest of the final assemblers there know how to set things up to the same specs so you won't be getting a lesser playing or feeling guitar. Tom wouldn't have it any other way.

As far as quantity goes, Tom will have to provide that info but I would venture to say that there are quite a few leftys built these days.

Also, isn't it nice not to have to pay more for a lefty?

Hope this helps.

It IS nice not to have to pay more for a lefty. I remember thinking that when I ordered one..."Oh, cool, I thought they would charge extra."

we do about 20 per year, a bit more each year. as for how much attention they get, we do everything by the book, so they just get read backwards, same amount of love.
