The Grand Am I just bought is missing the notch plate that allows the floating bridge to lock into place. Anybody got one or know of a good place to check?

Justin,

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time finding that part. I'm not sure how legit this guy is, but maybe you can ping him an e-mail to see if he has the part: info@kahlerusa.com (it's not an official kahler site that I'm aware of).

if you are looking for the plate itself, that is held on with 2 screws, i may have one here. let me know if that is the only missing part.

As far as the tech at Mass St. and I could figure, the plate that allows the bridge to lock into place is the only thing missing. Are you willing to part with that plate?

i'll go look for one. just to be clear, you have the rest of the mechanism that slides back and forth?

I believe so...the bridge itself has a piece in it that slides back and forth as the trem bar is rotated. I'm assuming that is the part that latches onto the plate that screws into the back of the body of the guitar. That plate the bridge latches onto (to the best of my knowledge) is the only thing I'm missing. I'm 95% sure on that.

so you do have the contraption that screws into the body? it has several set screws on it, a clamp lever, and an arm that goes into the slot in the trem block?

Nothing that screws into the body is on my guitar. Just the bridge. Everything that screws into the back of the guitar between/underneath the springs is missing. I thought that it was just a plate, but if it's a whole contraption itself, then yes, it's gone.

That's the same guy from the above auction. He's got a few auctions with similar parts (a few of which are from TAGs).
