Wow.
I don't have words, really I don't. Out of the box this thing just took my breath away with pure looks - man, what a Koa top. The Koa overlay on the headstock with abalone logo? Get outta here. The Koa fret marker inlays on the neck? Whew. The Koa humbucker pickup ring? Man!
Koa gooooooooooooood!!
Whew!
It is light; chambered and weighing in at 6lbs. 4 ounces. Yep, it is THAT light. And here is the best part - even at that weight it is balanced. No neck droop here. That is choosing woods correctly. Gerard, you are the MAN.
I had sent down a set of WCR SR/SR/Fillmore pickups for this guitar; what a great match. Tone and attitude for days. I am loving it. LOVING it.
Cranked up the VHT Pittbull 45 and had at it for about 2 hours (hey, long lunch and skipping the eating part, it's okay!) and wow. Everything just feels, sounds, and looks great. Super detail work on this thing from the fretwork to the nut.
Perfect. This is the perfect compliment to my Custom Artist "S". I sold a Hamer T-51 and my last PRS - a killer Custom 22 to be able to do this guitar. It was *well* worth it.
