Could somebody please enlighten me as to where the Anderson "A" came from - the design of it, that is.
Thanks,
Ryan
when i started out, i asked a friend of mine who is a graphic artist to help me with a logo. i gave him a headstock and told him how it had to fit. those were the early mtv days, so i said it would be nice if it were recognizable from a distance evn if you could not read the whole thing. i said it should be something artsy, but not too folksy. he came bak a week or two later and showed me some versions of TAG and TAGW in creative fonts. nothing jumped out at me. then he said that this one was his favorite. he showed me the current logo and i loved it. he did it with a brush and ink, and it turned out to just what i was looking for. it haas the whole name, but the A is visable from far away. thanks to mike tooke.

Cool story, Tom. I always find it interesting how those creative ideas come about.

Great story. Thanks for the info. I must say, I love the fact that you can't see the whole name from a distance - just that signature A. I remember when I was younger, I would see on on an award show or something, and I was likle WHAT IS THAT?? It was such a mystery, because I had no way of telling what kind of guitar it was, but I knew I wanted to know more.
The design rocks too. Very appealing to the eye, and it kinda matches the shape of the headstock in a minute way.
Thanks,
Ryan

Works for me. The first time I saw one was a while back on a Clint Black video. I immediatly posted on a couple of forums about the guitar with the
"A" on the headstock. Took a few minutes and I knew. Haven't been the same since!

Thanks for that bit of history Tom. I've always loved the Anderson logo and to me it still looks fresh after all these years.

Good question post and story- Thanks Ryman and Tom.
The "A" logo and headstock design definitely caught my eye and sparked interest in Andersons upon seeing Ross Bolton play a natural ash HDT in a Funk Guitar instructional VHS circa mid 199X ;)
