Ah but if you click on each one of the lines it gives you pretty good view.

Singlecut more of a curve on the tail, like a Crowdster
Trussrod adjustment at the top of the neck
New neck joint
New hardtail almost looks like a tonepros with adjustable intonation
6-inline tuners.
Hardmounted pickups

Looks pretty cool to me, ah but to have the down payment money. This is starting to get the GAS agonig again. :D

Did you notice the redesign on the full size humbucker? Is this a super mini?

From what I could tell, it reminded me a bit of a Crowdster in shape. There were a few interesting looking things on it but I'd have to see more before I thought about replacing my Cobra S with one. Speaking of my Cobra S, I do like the finish on the new one... ;)

Oh yeah, I did see all those. That's what inspired my outburst. :D

Looks like just enough views to whet one's imagination, but not enough to unveil the entire guitar. Rats!

Among other things, I'd like to see more detail on the neck attachment.

we will get into the details next week, but i will say that seeing is nothing like playing. i am totally spoiled now. i played the gold one this weekend.
we are getting hammered with rain, the ground out here does not know what to do with this much water. the shop has a few leaks, but is not a big problem.

So what exactly do you call the finish? It looks like my Firemist Gold Metallic Cobra S but seems to have way more normal size flake than my guitar overall instead of larger flake like a sparkle. I want my next Classic to have that finish.

brian b
01-09-2005, 09:26 PM
All I know is I'am seeing mine in fire to match my Cobra. Maybe when it goes back to Tom after namm to have the Fishman put in they take a pic to make a top like it. If everything works out a depoist will be put down around then. :D

tom
01-09-2005, 10:03 PM
this one is sheer gold. it is a translucent fire mist with sparkle flake on top of it. maybe if you're all good we'll show you some maple tops next week, maybe.

How many Atoms do you have built? Any with different pickups and/or bridges?

Son of Anderson
01-11-2005, 05:31 PM
if memory serves correct, three prototypes came home before the final one as seen in this weeks GOTW. Tom aka Dad can tell you how many have been made since, or will be made before NAMM.

tom
01-11-2005, 06:05 PM
there are 3 working proto types. the first has the regular hard tail bridge we use. the rest all have the new bridge. there are two official production ones. one of those is radically different and probably will not surface for a while. we are building 3 for namm. all three will have dofferent pickup araingements.

Is it pronounced A Tom like "I know a Tom", or like the small building blocks of matter... Atom? What happen to calling it a Jason or a Solley? How about a 'Royster' or a Foughtron.

Now that is a very important question that cannot wait for Guitar of the Week to be answered, so I put in a quick call to Roy at Anderson and he checked with the guy who writes Guitar of the Week and got back to me. The official word is Atom is pronounced, Atom.

"the over use of the word "I"? I used it twice... my lord... in order to appease the masses, here is a revised statement.

"A thought (not an actual "worry") has occured to a small minority (limited to myself) that because of buildup and waiting surrounding new model that the final unveiling will prove anti-climatic (for that small minority) if (that small minority) doesn't appreciate the innovations and overall guitar concept (most directly body shape) presented in the model (regardless of whether or not that guitar would be something that small minority would consider purchasing later on (as that small minority is able to appreciate the things that make ANY guitar unique, regardless of personal playing style)).

I realize that anderson guitars is not unveiling this guitar to please me, it's the culmination of tom's vision of the perfect guitar for him that will also hopefully be appreciated by fans of anderson guitars. I GET THAT. (as you are being picky about my "overuse" of the word "I" I shall continue to maintain that "narcissistic" was used improperly, that's why I wrote "I don't get it")

...but as such a fan, I reserve the right to make a simple comment pertaining to myself and to no one else that I hope it is as cool as I think it will be, so as not to be dissappointed...

I stand by my statement, and offer no more apologies as I didn't (and still don't) view it as even being remotely offensive, narcissitic, antaogonistic, or any other manner other than stream of thought comment that has by now brought way too much scrutiny to it and diverted attention away from the new model. so ease up fellas...
