I have owned a dozen variations on the Cobra/Classic T theme and I think I found one that fits me like a glove- the Drop Top T with Cobra style switching and a Floyd. It's also the #1 setup for a monster player/Anderson dealer who I admire and respect here in Dallas.

Anyway, I don't see many of these. OK, I've only seen 2- mine and his. Soon to be 3 as I've got a Deep Ocean Blue coming in to keep the Bora Bora Burst company. Any other fans out there?

Oh yea Jay,

I agree completely. Drop Top Ts are great guitars. It just goes to show what you can create for your own personal playing needs from Anderson’s options if you know what you want and need. Very cool!

I love my Drop Top T in Deep Ocean Blue Burst. Maple on Alder for a big, heavy tone. No Floyd though. 02-07-01S.

Ah yes, the "queen" mother of all Drop Top Ts is 6120 Orange. The one all others aspire to be. I had the pleasure of playing that guitar for a couple of weeks while BH came to his senses about "never playing guitar again". I knew he would want it back, but I played the hell out of it while I could. My Bora Bora Burst is close, but Orange just has a little extra mojo. ;)

Jay, could you please post a picture of your Bora Bora burst DTT. I'm a sucker for any shade of blue. :D

I would prefer it in fire burst and with a middle pickup, but could not resist the rosewood neck.
absolutely lovely guitar, a true rock monster!

Turrican-

All right! Nice DTT. I was starting to feel lonely. Love the RW neck. Would be interesting to throw an M1 in the middle.

How do you like that H3/H1 combo? I've got an H2+/H1+, but I'm running into an XTC so gain really isn't an issue for me.

the pickups are very loud, excpecially the H1, soulds almost too compressed, some times.
Perhaps it would sound more musical with H2+/H1- , but i like the aggression. Maybe it the future i'll switch.
The rosewood neck is very interesting tonaly, the guitar sounds louder on the bass side of things, even unpluggen, but the highs are sparkling clear, articulate and never muddy. And sustain for days !!!
I bet your DTT into the XTC is total meltdown!

almost forgot!
cannot point out enough how easily the sound cleans and gets smoother using just the volume pot!
i've been playing for 2 months with a Soldano X99, and can get clean sounds in the lead channel with A LOT of gain using the neck pickup and lowering the volume from the pot, then switch to the bridge and raise the volume and it's back to heavy tones! really versatile for such a hot pickup
