Some input on Sounds

Hey everyone,

I am interested on people's comments associated with body wood combos. I have both a Cobra (Maple/Mahogany) and a Drop Top (Maple/Alder). They are amazing guitars and both have an H2+ in the bridge position. I am finding that the Drop Top has a darker sound to it.

Have other folks noticed similar? I know they are completely different wood combos, but just wanted to see what others have experienced.

It's enough to drive you crazy,eh? ;)
Unless we convert to composite based guitars,we have to deal with the variables of wood. Guitars made to the same specs,same woods,even having a similar weight,can sound very different in the end. I use that to justify owning
several of the same model. ;)

Maybe we can ask Tom if he can predict what a certain piece of wood will sound like based on weight,tap tone,etc.?

(and how is that koa coming along that was in the kiln?) :D
