Played my new HDTT in Church yesterday went thru my pod and also my Rivera. Got a Really bad 60 cycle hum on the bridge when split. It did not matter which one they were plugged in t different outlets. Came home using the same set up's. Thinking maybe a ground problem. Same thing, then I play today no hum on the split could this be a loose wire. Havent pulled anything loose yet. May just run it by Brian H if it does it again. I thought that these where hum canceling even on the split.

Brian-

It's because when you split it, it's a single coil. And single coils pick up 60 cycle.

Nope, they are susceptible to picking up 60 cycle hum when split just like a single coil. The severity depends on the usual factors when using single coils.

had a feeling that was it. Been playing tonight and not a noise. Time for a power conditioner to help regulate everything. :D

Mine is not bad at my house at all. Elsewhere though it is always a crap shoot and I usually do not win, especially in the blue bar dives.

You could always rewire the switch so that the bridge pickup is parallel instead of split. That way it would still get brighter than series but would cancel noise. I've considered wiring my M Cobra that way.

that would be an option. i tried wiring the m1 in my guitar in parallel, and it was not as bright as the series sound. strange.

Have you tried a M3 in parallel yet?
