Tom
On my hollow drop top classic, it was set originally set up for regular (10-46) elixer strings which I still use. If I wanted to to go to med.(11-49), do I have to have the nut worked to handle the bigger strings. I have a trem on the guitar.
Thanx

I'm not Tom, but here are my thoughts:

If the strings get hung up in the nut when you tune, or when you bend strings (you get that little "Ting!" noise coming from the nut), then you need to enlarge the nut slots. If it doesn't you're fine. My guess is that you'll probably have to enlarge the E and B string slots -- but that's just a guess based on experience with other (non-TA) guitars.

this is tom, and we have been cutting just a bit bigger than we used to. joe had the right advise. it may work with no mod, but if you hear tinking or have tuing problems, it may need to be enlarged slightly.
