Cobra Special Question

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding Cobra Specials. Are they only available with P90 pickups? Or can they be ordered with Humbuckers?

Hi,

Oh, Cobra Specials are so awesome. According to Anderson, yes, they can be had with 2 or 3 P-Series pickups, 2 or 3 M-Series and twin full-sized humbuckers. The choice is yours.

Hmmm... I love my Cobra Special, but now I can't help but wonder what it would sound like with M's in it...

If you have Ps in it now it is a simple switch over to do the Ms. Ms are smaller so included with them (if requested) is a black surround that nicely dresses and fills the P rout. The resonant peak of am “M” is shifted up from the Ps just a bit without loosing girth or being edgy—more traditional single coil like but with the bigness of a P.

I have one with the minis - very nice, a little more midrange than the p90's, I think. It is my number 1.
