Was on the way home from Charley's today and stopped by a Pawn shop for the fun of it. Saw a Guitar mark Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic with a TM sign on it Made in the US serial Number 8075704. Is this real or a fake.

The S/N sure sounds like it's a fake. On the TAG Website (in the News Section) there is a warning from Tom about a number of fake Andersons being touted in Texas & Oklahoma. How much were they trying to get for it?
if the model name is on the headstock, it's fake. if there is any serial number other than the date, it's a fake.

Dude...it's a serious fake. The guy from the Pawn shop brought it by my old shop, and it's a perfect example of the type of fake Anderson's, Schecter, Alembic and PRS crap that I've seen floating around the North Texas Pawn shop's.
Made in China, Peavey strat type guitars with their headstocks sanded down, and very badly made stenciled logo's placed on them.
The Pawn shops know about it now, but they took quite a big hit for awhile giving high loan value's on fake guitars.
You haven't lived until you've seen a Peavey strat turned into a 'PRS Custom 22', that some idiot cut a $400 pawn ticket on.

Stan: Know where I could get a nice Drop Top Classic? I really like the one on the "Products" page of the Anderson web site. Its the one pictured in the upper right corner.

That looks like Deep Ocean Blue, really a cool color. Haven't seen any used ones in that color floating around lately.

Guitarman 1956,
Check out the Arctic Blue Burst, Hollow Drop Top Classic on Willies' site. I am not sure if the still have it but it was an absolute killer with twin Ms in the neck and middle and a full sized Humbuck in the bridge position. I’ll never forget that one.

Guitarman 1956,
Check this out. This is their site.
http://www.williesguitars.com/
Here is the link to their Andersons:

Picture does not do it justice. It looks nothing like that. Get them to send you a better picture if you are really, really, really interested.
If this is not the perfect guitar for you then simply order your dream guitar from your local or favorite dealer and all will be well.
Happy Holidays and Everyday,
Mr. Maybe

I almost bought that one form Mark (Pluto) awhile back. Unfortunately (for me) Marrk was on the edge about selling and ended up keeping the guitar. It is a real stunning guitar!
