Cleaning Saddles

What do you recomend to clean bridge saddles? I'm getting a little bit of string breakage at the bridge, so I'm guessing that I have some build up on the sadles.

Also, what should I use to keep the nut slots free of gunk?

I should mention: It's a Cobra S with the standard trem.
