Rock Cover Band - What would be your essential covers from the 60/70's?
I am working on putting together a killer rock covers band; have a great playlist for the modern (80-90-00's) stuff.
I want to assemble about 3 sets of modern rock and 3 sets of classic rock; and rotate them in and out as the gig needs.
What I am looking for input on here is stuff that KILLS crowd's from the 60's-70's.
Beatles, Zeppelin, Doors, Who or whatever.
Not looking for show-off stuff, looking for stuff that makes the girls dance and gets rooms jumping.
Suggestions?

I didn't know you use to play in a cover band. Cool. I think the only songs I could play from that list are the ones from UFO and America!!

yeah, for free beer back "in the day"!! We were....decent. BUT as soon as I wanted to play VH, Rush, Scorpions, Ozzy.....the looks that I'd get! Remember this was the era of Duran Duran, The Stray Cats, Modern English, The Plimsouls, Kajagoogoo, U2, Flock of Seagulls, blah, blah.....
At my HS, it was KROQ or nothing. Metal rockers got NO respect.
I had to go to the "dark side" (translation: outside the school) to find anyone who wanted to really ROCK (ala VH and Ozzy).:D

"Million Miles Away" as in the Valley Girl soundtrack! Yes!
No prob on "Polar Express". I've not seen either movie, as long as I can continue to dodge the mall and "babysit" at music stores. BTW, Wildwest has/had some SWEET axes and amps. I feel about $2k about to leave the wallet again!!
