One difference between my hollow T and my Classic is the edges of the fretboard. My classic has more of a broken in feeling neck as the edges of the fretboard are much more "softened" or as I have heard it called "rolled" My Hollow T is more of a harder edge. Love em both but feeling a slight preference to the softer edge.
Is this a fluke or can one specify a "rolled" edge fretboard? It just feels soooooo good.

:D :D

we have done more or less over the years. some like more, some like less. we try to keep it balanced for everyone.

Is this process done with a roundover bit to start with, or entirely by hand?

hand only.

I do this on my own to my guitars; I use a product you can get from Stew-Mac called "Micro-Mesh" and have the kit they sell.

I do this to the edges of the fretboard (and often the back of the neck) going through all the different grades of grit (ranges from 1500 to 12,000) and the results are utterly breathtaking and I absolutely love it. I have been doing this since 1998 to most of my "keeper" guitars.

A side benefit is that the fret edges get incredible dressing from the process btw.

Scott,

Could you please expand on the neck treatment in the thread (http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54369) on The Gear Page?
