And she's staying:D Keeping the HDTC company and just being a smoking guitar at the same time. Sounds killer through the Aiken and the Bogner - just crushes my old LP in every way...

Might drop some hotter pups in it, but we'll see...for now it's killer, and on the unique side with the covers.

Yes, those pu covers are unique...Please don't try to remove the covers...it will get ugly and only ruin a rare pick up we don't make anymore. Wanna talk about a hand made pickup?...I have a soft spot for those pickups.

I know that guitar. Sold it at a guitar show a few years ago. Gold and caramel if I'm not mistaken. Nelson Hill's Cobra.

Sweet! I've got a thing for gold topped Cobras myself. I went for Firemist Gold just to be a little different though.

Nice guitar!

Not to worry Bruce - if I change anything I'll drop an H2+ / H1- combo in there and leave the stock pups untouched;) They do sound killer too.

Hey Brian -

This was an ebay score - and yes the seller was / is in Texas....it propbably changed hands since the original owner bought it, got it from a guy named "Al".

Yeah - it's an awesome guitar!

Steve E That guitar brings back great memories. I bought it from one of my closest friends and sold it to a guy that would become one of my dearest friends, only to buy it back when times got rough. We are all glad to see it get a good home.
Here's a picture from my Gallery section with it's new owner (at the time) Nelson Hill just after he bought it. That was a long time ago.

Classic, nice to know that things are being kept within the 'family' so to speak.....this is an awesome guitar and I think it's found a great home :D See, it was inevitable that I would end up with a Cobra that at least had passed through your hands....this one would like my old / Jerry's new Splawn ;)

The Sabre is killer...the XTC is killer....and my wife literally just walked in and told me we're leaving for Kauai in an hour:eek:      :D Had me packed and everything - I think I'm going to keep her.

I'm speechless at the moment - suffice to say something may be going.....stay tuned.

I'll return tan, surfed out and ready to deal.

It will be in good hands.

Seriously...have a GREAT time. Don't think of the gear you could have bought....  :D

O.k.....back from the land of Aloha, and since I got laid off from work immmediately upon return, I've had ample time this week to spend with my Cobra.

My thoughts? This guitar absolutely smokes - just awesome. I feel really stupid for going down the Les Paul path - but it was neccessary and served it's purpose. The Cobra has every bit the punch, plays easier, is far more comfortable and has a clarity that is just awesome...I still may swap out the pups for something a shade hotter, we'll see.

Anyway - I just love this guitar, it's all I've been playing.....
