I play a lot of outside gigs in Florida. This causes the hardware on my guitars to gunk up. I've heard denatured alcohol is good for keeping a bridge clean and functional but I thought I'd check with you before I use it. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
that works. if it's getting really wet, you might want to to lube any moving parts, especiallly if it's a floyd, with wd40 or similar product. floyd saddles need to be able to pivot or they will not function. saddle height screws can get bound up as well. our fishman made bridges have stainless screws, so they aren't as prone to corrosion.

Thanks Tom; none of my guitars have tremolo bridges so the denatured alcohol should be sufficient.
it is nice to put a little lube on the knife edges from time to time. vaseline works great.
