the reason that I'm not posting this in the carvin forum is cause I don't feel like registering over there, and my question is a general question about neck woods, just happened to be brought about by this guitar:

it comes standard with an ebony fingerboard and a rosewood fingerboard is an upgrade. I was just wondering what the tonal difference was between the two.

To me, rosewood adds warmth to a guitars tone while ebony adds brightness. Ebony has a smooth feel and rosewood is a bit granier. I like both and my guitar fingerboards are evenly split between the two .
