So I was thinking in a T Classic direction. Imagine we have VA neck, VA middle, and HF in the bridge. Could you have a traditional 3 way switch that worked on the neck and bridge as though there was no middle pickup (neck, neck plus bridge, bridge)... And then have a pull tone that did an 'add middle' option to all 3 positions? AND on top of all that have a mini toggle that split the HF?

Thanks in advance.

Sure. It is same idea as add bridge except it is add middle and the mini still splits bridge

For some reason I really like the simplicity of the 3 way in my Hollow T Classic with TV1/TV3 pickups. It's something to do with you can be a little more rough with it and get it where you want it to go. I have to be a little more careful with the 5 way. Lol

I am all about 5 ways. I switch back and forth between series and parallel on my Bob Cat so much that I wish it had a 5 way, but that would look disgusting lol

could certainly do that. it does complicate some sound changes, but with 3 pickups with one being a hb, you always have some double switch changes. 3 way switches do have a great feel, no wondering if you're really in the right spot.

Exactly this. If I'm honest on my Classic with VA, VA, HF, 5 way, add bridge, VA boost... I basically use either the neck or the bridge either split or full. On occasion I'll use neck and middle and on occasion I'll use the add bridge. I'd use the add bridge sound more often if it was wired in the middle position since I never use the middle VA on its own. But if you think about my two main sounds it's basically either whack the 5 way all the way up or all the way down.

5 way can be wired so that position 3 is neck+bridge.

One of these days I might send it down for a new pickguard and have you guys rearrange the switching while we're in there. If I had my druthers I'd change the middle to neck plus bridge. Mini 3 way switched out for a 2 way that splits the bridge. And VA Booster moved to the pull tone. New pickguard because I let someone borrow it for a set and they did like ten years worth of wear and tear in one set. It's pretty astonishing how hard that guy strums.
