Hello i am courious about Raven`s I have never owned a offset guitar! it seems like the old Fenders were not so good built, and problems with tuning stability..
what specs do you Anderson people favour on your Ravens?and why? The big problem for me is that I live in Norway, and cant just go to a store and try out guitars with different specs and pup`s..
I have seen a few youtube reviews, but they dont talk much about pup`s, scale and switshing..

I like the sound of the PH1 in the neck, but whats the sonic differences between HC2, HC3 and PH3 in the bridge position?
I play mostly clean and crunch, not so much high gain..no metal..
what about scale? i think i would go for regular scale.. I se most on the guitar tales gallery is 24 3/4!
and switching.. some have 2 mini toggles some have 3 (2 cut back and one boost?) and even som have only one mini toggle..

I would like to hear some user reviews form you guys, and some advice for me who are playing mostly clean and crunch rock & roll and some country style music!

I may have blown my guitar budget, but you always want to try out new guitars and amps.. :)

the one i have been playing for a while now is short scale, but i have only been playing shorty's for quite some time. it's alder with my trusty bamboo neck, b ut maple would be my other choice, ph1- and ph2 with 2 cut switches. it covers the sounds you're describing really well. tim pierce has been using his on a number of videos lately, his is long, alder with M/R neck hc1-, hc1. it def has more low end snap than my shorty.

Thanx a lot Tom!! i think my next guitar will be a a Raven with alder body and ph1-ph2! I dont think I need a HC
I have only owned a short scale for 8 months.. HSTC, and its a very fun guitar to play.
A burst coloured Raven with tortuise pickgard, caramel maple neck/roseboard would look stunning, and get that classic 60īs look!
I realy feel from the youtube clips trough my B&W speekers that this is a guitar for my taste!

The Natural Mahogany look realy nice, but I think alder is more for me soundwise!

You have been experimenting with bamboo for a while. Any plans to offer it? What is it like tonally

not likely we'll offer it. because of it's limitation in thickness before laminating, it's not a practical dimension to work with for necks. also, it's not all that stiff, maybe a bit less than mahogany, so it tends to need adjusting more than many people might want. if it were available in a more user friendly size i might play with reinforcing it to stiffen it up some.

it's quite lively sounding and has a nice top end sizzle without being pingy or hard sounding. it may not have as deep a bottom as maple, but not enough low end has never been a problem for me personally. i keep hoping that a different size will become available but from what i understand, when the bamboo tubes reach about 6" in diameter, they harvest them. that ring around the outside generates strips that are about 1/4" by 3/4". so the thickest board you get without vertical laminations is 3/4". it really needs to be close to 1" to make a neck. the one i'm playing has a .1" face laminated onto the back of the peghead and heel area of the neck. then a bamboo fingerboard as well.

still fiddling with alternative neck woods, but maple is so good and so far have not found a good alternative to mahogany for that sound.

fingerboard woods are looking fairly promising as rosewood is in such a state right now.

Very cool. I always enjoy hearing about that stuff.

I have is before I love maple neck/boards even though I currently own more guitars with RW boards I cannot get enough of maple

Ravens are awesome guitars!! It's an alder body shorty. Great guitar that I use for classic rock tones:
