I got this TAG today from a guy in Germany (I live in Belgium) dirt cheap.
I don't particularly like that natural finish, but everything else about it is great.
I did a serial nr search on the TAG site and it is a 1999 Classic T.
Body is swamp ash and it has a Brazilian rosewood fretboard (although not dark)
It still plays and sounds very nice, but I have to figure out the switcheroo system.
I haven't tried the x bridge piezo, because I haven(t got a 9 Volt battery at the moment and I suspect it is drown.
Does this only work if you play stereo? If you use both inputs?

it can play in mono or stereo, but anytime you want the acoustic to be used you must have a battery in there. the magnetic pickups will work even if the battery is dead. they are passive all the time.
for mono, use the mono jack, for stereo, use the stereo jack. if you want to send the signals out separately, you can use two mono cables and the acoustic will exit the stereo jack.
did you have any trouble getting it across the boarder? brazilian rosewood is very closely controlled these days.

Wow, the man himself answering...
Thank you for the details on the piezo.
About the Brazilian rosewood : shipping from Germany to Belgium is no problem.
As long as the guitar stays in Europe I don't need a CITES paper, I guess.
To be honest, the seller didn't even say it's a brazilian rosewood fretboard.
I saw it when I did the serial nr search.
Anyway, I am very glad with this guitar. I have several high end Gibsons, Fender Custom Shops, Music Man, ESP, PRS, old Kramers, Vigier,..
It was about time I got a TAG. It won't be my last.
This guitar needed a set up though, the intonation was off,
The previous owner had no idea what/who Buzz Feiten is I think ..
It was a little dusty too,but no scratches or dents..
I am not sure if the switcheroo system functions as it should.
In the support page I see a switcheroo system with 4 switches (for 3 pickups), mine has only 2 pickups .it has 3 switches ; 1 that has 2 positions (blower switch?!) and 2 that have 3 positions.
I read in the support pages that the switches have just on and off positions, why have mine 3 positions.
So, I don't know how that works.
Anybody? Or Tom?
i remember that 2 pickup switcheroo. the pickup switches are always 3 way. down is series of the coils, up is either parallel or split, which is how yours is set, depending how you have the internal dip switches set. middle is off.
what year is it? i can't quite read the scribble, who does that anyway?

I would have thought with it being a 99 there would be no questions about it.
