thanks for the heads up, I think the over sized 7 string neck would be too much though and a new neck would be too expensive...

Sure, no worries. I don't think the oversized neck is all that noticeable on the 7 though, given that the neck is pretty wide.

Just chiming in on the neck size thing.
.030" (30 thousandths of a inch) is around .8mm thicker than normal. That's a super small amount, and actually makes the grip a little easier on the wider neck - fills the hand an ever so tiny bit better (and I have small hands).
For me a too wide neck can be quite off-putting, whereas I can quickly adjust to the differing feel of a deeper neck. It took me ages to get used to 1 11/16th over 1 5/8th (that extra stretch changes how I hold the neck), but I can pick up my Cobra with Happy Medium and it feels just as easy to play as the Even Taper even though the neck feels quite a bit deeper.
IMO, if the rest of the guitar is to your liking, I'd say go for it. That's one really nice looking guitar.
